Electrical outlet not working...

l disconnected and removed an electrical outlet yesterday, and now the
CoraBear
outlet closest to it does not work. There were two cables leading into the

box, and l taped and capped all the wires individually before covering the

worked), but the other one is closer to the breaker panel. If this outlet
was in the middle of the other two, why would the first one in the chain
not work? Do l need to connect the two cables together somehow?

To have anything electrical work properly, there must be a feed

(hot) line & a return (neutral) line. Outlet receptacles are wired in

parallel, not series. The hot line is connected to the gold looking

wires) runs from the first outlet to the other outlets. Connect the others
in the same way as the first outlet. After connecting, you will have two
wires on the hot terminal & two wires on the return terminal. The last
outlet will have only the two wires attached. The first outlet did not
work, as the circuit was incomplete. Although highly unlikely, it is
possible for the terminals to not make contact with the strips inside the
outlet. If that turns out to be the case, the outlet needs to be
replaced.

Yes, electrical outlets are connected in a series, if you

remove one, you disconnect all those that follow it.
